Clear the water and air = clear the mind and brain!
Functional, useful, affordable innovation with paperclay systems outside the field of art demands the taming of practical imagination followed by testing
A short list below of environmental science topics that are part of the big picture.
Let these spicy topics below cook in your imagination which never sleeps.

✴️
watch  water bubbles-  the water puffs and more on the ISS space craft
✴️
watch and learn about the water industries. Study how municipal water treatment for a big city and a small and what happens at your tap and before and after ,the whole process.
✴️
Study learn the process and  latest in landfill engineering and the reason why the practices today are best available.
✴️
Claims that incineration practices solve the problem are not 100% learn why.
✴️  .
Some filters for desalinization and filters for every purpose medical are saving lives today but some are creating problems for a decade from now in landfill.
✴️
geo membrane industries watch how they do it.
✴️
recycling industries watch how they do it-subscribe to newsletters.
 ✴️
learn about mining. How much power- powder processing  does it take to make nano powders from raw ore?
✴️
learn about maker spaces and be aware of the greenwashing hype- some plastics are relatively less than others but NONE are harmless in landfill yet.
✴️
learn about the toxic waste pools in such as Berkeley pit in Montana
✴️
understand the toxic waste byproduct and cost of air scubber for PM2 in  the char industry
✴️
learn physics, chemistry, biology, geology like crystals and geodes.
✴️
learn what bio ceramics and dental ceramics are is all about.
✴️
learn of course what biomicry is all about.
✴️
learn modeling SIMS and Mat Lab and other ways to visualize and measure.
✴️
Take a pottery or handbuilding class. Get to know how clay responds to your thoughts and touch at certain stages of its life.
✴️
✴️
My  Field Study in Nicaragua overview on Challenges of water filtration (2010-2011)  with a wish list from the manufacturers.
✴️
Luckily clay doesn't lie! and you should be able to spot real research... from  the fake AI. Be careful.

-------------------------------
If you are into ceramics already...and have already learned how to make and manage your own clay body and glaze tests.... Some possibilities below would have positive environmental footprint.
If you called to this challenge from in studio review  top 10  ceramic art studios.

✳️
Test your base clay-minerals for lowest possible firing temperature. Every 100 degrees C matters to a limit.
Can you design a paperclay to fire under 1200C and be durable thermal shock resistant without lithium.  Yes we have in early tests.
Speed the rate of firing and require only one fire. Most paperclays are better at this than traditional.
✳️
Plan for fuel-air mix that Burns CLEAN flame during fast fire that is oxidation instead of pyrolysis.
✳️
Harmless in landfill? Paperclays are better at this than traditional. If not contaminated by mixed fiber they have advantage afterlife. This too needs more testing.
------------------
Avoid mixes of  natural fiber contaminated with synthetic fiber like nylon commonly added.
This draft of a protocol list is just a start. Industrial ceramic designers who are tackling the problem will have to understand not just the utility of the end product the team is making for customers and smooth production but how the choice of methods and processes connect.
Rosette's Mission Statement (1983)

I strive to contribute to the advance of individual and world communication, health and well being via the arts, humanities, nature, and applied materials sciences.

I hope to enhance the quality of life in both aesthetic and practical ways. The arts help relieve our deepest sorrows, bridge vast language, space, and time differences, supply answers to science, give new perspective, and reconnect us to what is good and beautiful on this earth.
