I'm attending ACERS (American Ceramic Society) 2026 spring technical meeting for a progress report on sciences... needing insights and help from colleagues.
Let's think a little differently than the level at which the problems got started!
Anyone else want an alternative affordable material to clear plastic and PFAS by products as well as microbes from air and water and rebalance the environment in the process? It's not one material or additive any more.... systems are involved.
Choices: Wish list # 1...before during and after
1 vitreous point of less than 1250C
2 fire oxidation
3 fast fire
4 ingredients: avoid rare earths- lithiums and consider transport costs
5 single fire
6 inert in landfill
7 No dependency on ynthetic polymer-resins-fiber- or bare minimum for these purposes.

We'll consider the practical merits/costs/feasibility of targeted R&D suitable to serve customers at scale.
Customers, stake holders and more are asking for products made with less burden on the environment.
The profit opportunity and incentives for many investors and industries who would has never been more positive.... but we researchers have much of the fundamental puzzle pieces... so far.
Conversations continue.

A sequenced and balanced mix of water, plant pulp cellulose fiber (could be from reclaim paper) and minerals (clay-glaze) TRANSFORMS in the kiln-furnace to useful ceramic forms that are affordable, lightweight an more. Artists have been inventing works of art worldwide with the all or part of the new methods I exhibited in 1990 and soon published 1991 and on.
The versatile combo can be engineered cradle to grave with minimum impact on the environment. Meanwhile other technologies have been concurrently been developed. A convergence is on the horizon.
